He started acting at the age of 5 with a school play- ‘The Emperor’s New Clothes’ and debuted his acting career at the age of 12 with the Naseeruddin Shah starrer- Jalwa (1987), as Archana Puran Singh‘s younger brother.
He used to perform in school dramas and also used to write for the school magazine.
In 1988, he did his first professional play- ‘Brighton Beach Memoirs’ under the baton of Pearl Padamsee, which earned him the title- Child Prodigy by the press.
During his college days, he worked as an RJ.
He is also recognized as a prankster for his shows – Bakra on MTV and The Week That Wasn’t on CNN-IBN.
He has also done the voiceover for the character- Angada in the cartoon film Ramayana.
He has hosted many cricket shows including the popular ‘Chevrolet Cricket Show’ on Ten Sports and interviewed almost every cricketer.
Working with MTV as an anchor, he has also interviewed nearly every Bollywood celebrity.
In 2010, he released his book ‘Karl, Aaj Aur Kal’, a semi-autobiographical comedy about celebrities.
