  2. She was born like a normal child, but at the age of 5, she was diagnosed with spine tumour; which was treated for three years.

  1. In the year 1999, she was again diagnosed with a spinal tumour and then walking became impossible for her. The spinal tumour was operated by conducting 3 surgeries and 183 stitches. This made her lower body paralysed.

  2. When she was 36 years old, she decided to pursue a career in sports.

  3. She has participated in various adventure sports and has won accolades for those.

  4. Deepa is an enthusiastic motor-biker and has covered 1700 km drive in 8-days and that too in sub-zero temperatures.
