Ronda Rousey was born as the youngest of the three sisters in her family in Riverside, California.
She was named after her father name Ron Rousey.
In her childhood, She was the victim of Apraxia (a neurological childhood speech sound disorder); as at the time her birth, the umbilical cord was wrapped on her neck.
Her mother took her to Jamestown, North Dakota to obtain Ronda, an intensive speech therapy.
When Ronda was just 8 years old, her biological father committed suicide, after knowing that he would be paraplegic.
As a kid, she loved to write fan fiction on Animorphs.
She is a high school drop out but later she passed the GED (General Equivalency Development) examination.
When she was 11 years old, she started getting training from her mother in Judo. In 2004, she qualified for Olympic games in Athens and became the youngest judoka in the Olympic games.
In the same year, she won the gold medal at the Junior Judo Championship in Hungary.
In 2007, she received a gold medal and silver medal in Pan American Games and World Judo Championship respectively.
Ronda Rousey is the first American who won the Olympic medal in Judo in 2008.
She revealed in her autobiography, that after winning the Olympic medal, she took retirement from Judo at the age of 21 and started drinking heavily and smoking. She struggled a lot in her day-to-day life. She also worked as a bartender.
However, she moved to the mixed martial arts and won several championships and received a number of awards and honors.
In 2015, she appeared in a body painted swimsuit for ‘Sports Illustrated.’
She published her autobiography which is titled ‘My Fight Your Fight, Ronda Rousey.’
She started her WWE career with a full-time contract at Royal Rumble in January 2018. Before in 2015, she has appeared with The Rock and they both attacked ‘The Authority.’
In WWE wrestling, her finishing move is Standing Reverse Kata Guruma (Samoan Drop).
Apart from her wrestling and judo career, she has worked in a few Hollywood films such as Fast & Furious 7, The Expendables 3, and Through My Father’s Eyes. She also played a role in a 2018 Hollywood film titled ‘Mile 22.’
